Your task is to critique a nutrition product and its promotion you may encounter in your day to day life. Nutrition products and their promotion often target particular life stages and age groups. They often conflict with the Australian Dietary Guidelines and other evidence-based recommendations. By improving our knowledge about the issues and keeping in touch with current trends in information and misinformation, we will be better equipped to respond with timely, evidence-based advice to counter these messages. There are three components to this assessment. You will be assigned a nutrition product that targets a specific stage in the life cycle. The product comes with a promotional nutrition message. Your task for this assessment is to write an essay to critique the product and its promotion, using supporting evidence from the peer reviewed primary literature. Your critique should focus on the evidence against this message and relate it back to the requirements of the relevant life stage. In addition to the essay, you will compile a matrix of relevant primary literature and media bite regarding the product and its promotion.
