Assessment Task 2 – Portfolio of evidenceThis assessment task is a portfolio of evidence for your group.
You and your team are the administration team for your organisation. Part of your role is to train new staff.
Your organisation has just won a Government contract, and it means a large increase in workload so they have organised to employ 5 new staff at once. Your team have been asked to set up a work environment that will support the current and future learning that will be needed.
It is a collaborative task, as in the workplace, whereby the team will share knowledge and information to produce the evidence jointly.
The task will be worked on in the classroom under the supervision of the Trainer/Assessor who will act as Training Manager of the business and all presentation of information is expected to meet professional workplace standards.
To work on the portfolio of evidence, you and your team need to select from one of the following scenarios:
Scenario 1: Choose an organisation and industry that is familiar to be the organisation you represent. You could choose, for example, a business you have worked for or you work with.
Scenario 2: Your client is Lonsdale Institute’s Administration team.
Your team will be required to:
•find what learning opportunities are already available in the business and what needs to be added
•look at ways to encourage and support the staff in learning
•set up a system to monitor the areas that needs improvement and learning in the future

Ask your trainer and assessor for guidance in choosing a suitable organisation/scenario.

Evidence 1 – Encouraging learning at a work environment level
You and the team are now required to:
Develop and write up a training plan for the Training Manager of the organisation. This will include a brief outline of the business and what their learning needs would be.

Provide a brief description of your organisation of choice, including the industry in which they operate and the service/product that they offer.
Provide detail on the type or work environment and the skills and knowledge needed

Learning Plan
In liaison with the Training Manager, develop a Learning plan for the workplace that addresses all the following actions:
How to encourage and support workplace learning opportunities
How you would make the learning plans part of the individual and team performance plans
How the learning plans reflect the diversity of needs and learning opportunities
How the individuals and teams would be able to access and participate in learning opportunities
From feedback from the Training Manager how would your proposed learning opportunities enhance individual, team and organisational performance
