Student Tasks and Deliverables
Prepare an individual (digital) illustrated 8 page A3 report that demonstrates knowledge of the principles of thermodynamics and thermal comfort parameters in the context of the selected case study building thermal simulation assessment task:
- Prepare a baseline thermal simulation of the proposed case study building using the supplied insulation, glazing and material specifications. Total R value calculations will be required to be completed for Floor, Wall and Floor building fabric assemblies.
- Suggest optimisations to the building envelope specification and evaluate the impact using the above thermal model as a baseline.
- Prepare alternative thermal simulations for the proposed case study building in two other different climate zones and discuss th results.
- Conduct a baseline artificial lighting assessment ( Using the ABCB lighting spreadsheet) of the proposed case study building using the supplied lighting specification
