Your role in this assessment is to act as a team of ‘digital marketing consultants ’to the client (Crankit Cycles) we are advising this semester. While both Assignment 2 and Assignment 3 are linked as they focus on this business, they are not identical. Each assignment has separate tasks and assessments, but with the client being the same; there will be lots of cross-over in terms of your research and thinking. So, before you start working on either assignment, be sure to read both assessment descriptions,. That way you are clear on what is being specifically asked of you for each of them. When writing the assignment, you need to remember your ideas and strategies will potentially be used by your client’s business, so your report needs to be detailed and specific to the client.
The client has asked your team to use your theoretical and practical knowledge and understanding to develop a fresh perspective on their digital marketing that then logically flows through to an actionable set of recommendations. They have specifically asked for the development of a Buyer Persona for the business (Part 1), an evaluation of their current website (Part 2), and investigation of the use and application of trust symbols on their website (Part 3).
Key Requirements of Report:
The report must include the following four key sections:

Part 1: Buyer Persona
Create a detailed buyer persona of a typical customer of Crankit Cycles. Use all the detail provided by the client and, if necessary, make additional assumptions (but be clear in your report when you are making assumptions and also provide the reason behind any assumption made). As you will see, there are many potential customers for this business. It is recommended that you clearly define 1 buyer persona with clear details. The persona should be distinct insofar that they are focussed on a particular part of the client’s business. Once the buyer persona is developed, you will use it as the basis for your decisions and recommendations for Part 2, and 3 of this assignment and for all of Assignment 3.
Part 2: Website Evaluation
For the purposes of this task, the client’s key objective for their website is to increase and convert qualified online traffic. In conjunction with your personal experience and the buyer persona you have developed in Part 1, use the Principles of Good Web Design provided in Chapter 2 of the textbook to evaluate the client’s current website from a desktop and mobile user perspective. The website evaluation must also include actionable recommendations on how the client can improve their website based on your team’s application of the various web design frameworks from Chapter 2 of the textbook. Among other things, the evaluation must contain examples (screenshots and descriptions) of what you decide is best practice on other websites (including the websites of key competitors), to help justify the recommendations you propose to the client.
Part 3: Trust Symbols
You need to understand the importance of trust being established between a digital entity (in this instance, the Crankit Cycles website) and a prospective customer (of Crankit Cycles). Establishing trust is critical in e-commerce. Many prospective clients will not have any prior physical face-to-face experience with the business to develop faith in the site, and the product, service, and claims made by that business on their website. Simply put, if they do not trust the business, they are not likely to purchase anything from them or enlisting their services.
Based on the knowledge you have gained from the course resources on the topic of trust symbols and taking into account the buyer persona you have developed in Part 1, evaluate the client’s current website in terms of existing trust symbols (if they have any), and provide a set of fully justified recommendations on how they can further develop, or create, trust symbols. Advise Crankit Cycles what additional trust symbols they should include and where on the site. Also, provide trust symbol examples from other websites (including key competitors) that you decide is best practice in this area.
