Discuss an example of an ecological approach to an environmental issue of your choice. Emphasis here will typically be on detailed description of your chosen environmental issue in the form of a mini case study. You should include a critical analysis of the ecological connections and implications of the environmental issue that you selected and refer to relevant social science literature.
This is an indicative list of possible environmental issues that you may want to consider but please feel free to select a different issue of your choice:
1- a local environmental conflict in the place where you live now or a place where you used to live previously
2- a novel technology (such as green cars, sustainable chemicals, biodegradable plastics, clean energy etc.)
3- an existing technology with major impact on the environment (such as mobile phones, computers, plastic packaging, air transport etc.)
4– a specific green initiative (such as green architecture, energy transition, a circular economy project, cradle to cradle design, ecological art, ecosystem restoration, species or resources conservation etc.)
5- an environmental movement (such as Fridays for Future, Extinction Rebellion, Transition Towns or air pollution campaigns etc.)
6- or, finally, a case of sustainable consumption and sustainable food production (such as ethical shopping, vegetarianism/veganism, sustainable agriculture, organic food etc.).
