Case Study
Sarah is a 38-year-old mother of two boys, Matt 14 and Jordan 12 and is Married to Nick 42. Sarah who is employed in a middle management position had a heart attack whilst at work some 5 months ago. Prior to this event Sarah was very active in both her leisure activities and in the community. Sarah played tennis and netball and worked actively for one large not for profit organisation. Sarah initially participated in cardiac rehabilitation and was very motivated to get better. However, she had a minor setback early on in her rehabilitation and her treating medical practitioner has noted that she has not been the same since. She has made little progress in the last few months and is doing little in the way of her rehabilitation and return to some previous activities (mild exercise or work on a modified basis). Sarah wants to return to her “old self” and activities but doesn’t feel she is well enough to do much right now.
