The last portion of your ISU will be a group presentation and debate. This will be done in the style of CBC’s Canada Reads, which is basically a literary version of the reality tv show “Survivor”. Celebrities defend books that have been nominated, and, each session, panelists vote to eliminate one book, until a single title is chosen as the title the whole country should read this year Basically, your ultimate task in this ISU is to work with your team towards the objective of convincing the audience to vote your short story as the best in our class. We will decide the ultimate winner with a peer evaluation and vote.You are working collaboratively to make one Flipgrid Topic for your short story. Please note: you may use another video creation resource, but it must be uploaded to Flipgrid. You will be marked individually, so you will individually make videos, and then the whole collection will be viewed by your classmates. The group work comes in your collaboration, brainstorming and overall compilation of ideas. You will submit notes as you meet. Time will be provided for these meetings in January1 minute long summary of the short story’s plot in your own words, written in a way that is meant to curate interest in the text, not to simply list off the plot points. (If you have less than four group members, this is the item to remove. 1 minute long excerpt from the short story, dramatized (read aloud dramatically). Highlight a social justice issue represented in the short story and describe with specific short story events what the short story says about that issue. (If you have more than four group members, this is the item to do more than once)
