Specific Considerations When Writing the Reflection Section on the Weekly PC Labs: 

Overall, the Reflective Assessment of which relate to the reflection on the weekly PC labs. When writing that part, you should consider the following:
1. Your level of proficiency in the use of Bloomberg and MS Excel prior to the first weekly PC lab;
2. What you have learned during the weekly PC labs;
3. How your digital skills have been improved and how the use of Bloomberg and MS Excel have improved your employability;
4. How / where you may be able utilise the leanings from the weekly PC labs;
5. What you think that you now need to do to continue developing and enhancing your digital skills ie. your future plans / actions to be set to continue to improve in this area.

Requirements-

You are required to reflect on your experiences from the Anfield assessment centre (AC) that you will have attended on either Tuesday 29th March or Wednesday 30th March. There is a document on Canvas (‘Reflective log marking guidance and criteria’) that details the marking criteria against which your mark will be assessed.

In addition, 5% of the 45% allocated to the assessment mark is dedicated to a reflection on the Bloomberg and MS Excel labs. In this part, you should reflect on what you have learned, the skills you have acquired, how your skillset has been enhanced and what more you can now do to enhance your Bloomberg, MS Excel and digital skills further. This part of the log requires an allocated wordcount of 500 words out of the maximum 2500.
You are required to use Gibbs’s reflective cycle (Gibbs, 1998) as structure for the assessment to help reflect on what you have experienced during the AC, and what actions you will set yourself in the future to improve your chances of successfully finding a placement or summer internship.
To fully understand the assessment requirements and how to present the reflections on your learning you will need to have watched the screencast on Canvas introducing the assessment and Gibbs’ reflective cycle.

NOTE: Attendance at the assessment centre is MANDATORY! If you do not attend then this will automatically constitute a fail on the reflective log assessment, with the mark being capped at 39 out of 100 (39%) on your reflective log submission. You can still however pass the module overall with a strong performance on the other components (company research report, job application and attendance).
If a student wishes to resit the reflective log component in the summer with uncapped marks, they can submit extenuating circumstances for the non-attendance. The assessment brief for the resit reflective log will be slightly different given that an assessment centre will not have been attended and the details of this will be released alongside all of the other resit materials following the release of the semester two exam results.
