Case Study- Sen

Goals- Increase muscular strength and size to look better and to assist him with improving sports performance as he is a footballer.

Current Eating & Exercise Habits (Example 24 hours)
• Usually a high protein breakfast at about 7am including 2 egg whites, 2 slices white toast and a protein shake
• Mid-morning snack at about 11am (usually another protein shake)
• Lunch is usually a chicken breast with broccoli or 2 cans of tuna and a handful of brown rice
• Afternoon snack of peanut butter sandwich on white bread (around 3:30pm)
• Dinner at about 7pm includes red meat or chicken & mixed vegetables (4 – 5 times per week), or pasta with Bolognese sauce
• Drinks 2-3 glasses water throughout the day
• Perform weight training 3 times per week with long distance running sessions 2 times per week

Goals- Reduce her weight from 82kg to 65kg which was her weight 5 years ago prior to having children.

Current Eating & Exercise Habits (Example 24 hours)

• If she has breakfast it’s usually a black coffee and a slice of vegemite toast with margarine at approx. 6:30am
• Mid-morning snack of coffee and muffin (approx. 10am)
• Lunch is usually about 1pm and often includes left-overs from dinner the previous night such as pasta or risotto
• Occasionally will have a salad or dry biscuits and cheese for lunch if there are no leftovers.
• Snacks on her children’s leftover dinner at about 5pm
• Main dinner is usually around 8pm after her children are in bed and her husband comes home from work and consists of vegetable patties with salad or stir fried vegetables with satay sauce and noodles.
• Loves group fitness sessions performing step, spin, yoga and boxing classes one day per week.

• Usually just has a ‘slim fast’ shake for morning tea around 10am
• Lunch is usually carrot and celery sticks and a piece of fruit at about 1pm
• Afternoon snack around 4pm is a handful of almonds and blueberries
• Dinner at 8pm includes grilled or steamed fish or a salad with egg or chicken
• Drinks lots of water throughout the day, especially if she is hungry (instead of snacking)
• Performs 3 cardiovascular training sessions per week
• Doesn’t like to do resistance exercises because she believes it will make her look bigger and she doesn’t want her dress size to increase
