Instructions
This is an individual assessment focused on reflection and self-development. You should write in first person.
The assessment incorporates three main elements:
Knowledge and application of relevant change management / leadership theories
Insights gained from three (3) diagnostics (minimum – you may use more diagnostics if you wish but it’s not required) of self-assessment to reflect on personal strengths and weaknesses related to change management / change leadership
Logical development of an argument to position yourself in terms of change management capability in the future
HINT: USE THE D.I.E.P. reflective writing framework presented in the Week 9 workshop! (recording available)
In other words, you will utilise change management / change leadership frameworks presented in the course to analyse the outcomes of three (3) change management / change leadership diagnostics (minimum of 3 – from the course), to gain insights into your own positioning regarding organisational change.
Develop three (3) reflections – one for each of the diagnostics – based on the tips below. (NB: You must only produce three reflections, but you may, if you choose, decide to undertake more than three diagnostics. Diagnostics must be from our Course Text – Deszca, Ingols and Cawsy and can include self-assessment if applying any of our digital online materials too. See ‘Diagnostic ‘ideas’ available for use’ below.).
Tips for reflections:
Develop three (3) reflections of approximately 500 words in length each (total 1,500 words)
Explore relevant change management / leadership theories that link well to your selected diagnostics (read beyond the course text-book and reference your work using Harvard Referencing)
Cross-reference your diagnostics where insights have been gained that affect other diagnostics
Within each reflection utilise relevant change management / change leadership frameworks, and link your analysis to your own experiences with change (through a reflective process); ensuring you refer to insights gained from the diagnostics
Ensure you integrate the change frameworks with your own diagnostics and reflection, to develop an argument about your personal positioning in relation to organisational change.
Follow the recommended formatting guidelines outlined below to produce your Portfolio
Diagnostic ‘ideas’ available for use:Following is a list of potential diagnostics you may choose from. You Must select a minimum of three (3) diagnostics for your reflection. Please note, you may use additional diagnostics not listed here, as long as they are from the COURSE MATERIALS AND PROVIDE PERSONAL INSIGHTS regarding your change position. Please email your Course Coordinator to seek approval for any diagnostics not included below.NB: Diagnostics DO NOT REQUIRE an in-text citation if you are referring to them. Most of your reference to the diagnostics in-text will be about the insights you’ve gained from completing the diagnostic.
