You may select any brief that most interests you.) Note: each project brief has an accompanying reference article to help you to get started. You can access the article for your brief via ‘Assignment 3 Readings’ in DiReCt.
Now, read and summarise the main points (as dot points) in the article which supports the project brief that you have selected.
BRIEF 1: BUSINESS
You are a business consultant. You have been commissioned by a multinational company to write a report summarising the major issues associated with climate change, analyse their implications for business, and make recommendations to the company about how it needs to respond to the phenomenon of climate change.

BRIEF 4: SOCIAL SCIENCE
You are a social science academic. You have been commissioned by the Commonwealth Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet to write a report summarising the current status of Australia’s efforts to achieve the Closing the Gap targets, analyse the reasons for some targets not being on track to be achieved, and make recommendations to the Government about how Australia’s performance against these targets can be improved.

You are a health consultant. You have been commissioned by the Queensland Department of Health to write a report summarising the current status of obesity in the Queensland population, analyse the reasons for obesity and its implications as a health issue, and make recommendations to the Department about how obesity levels can be lowered.

You are a clinical psychologist. BRIEF 7: ABORIGINAL AND TORRES STRAIT ISLANDER STUDIES
You are a consultant specialising in Indigenous affairs. You have been commissioned by Reconciliation Australia to write a report summarising the degree to which Indigenous culture and imagery are being represented in the Australian urban landscape, analyse the issues and challenges faced by Indigenous artists and architects, and make recommendations to the organisation about how Indigenous culture and imagery can enjoy greater visibility in Australian cities.

PART B
You will now write a partial report about your project brief. Note: you are not expected to fully research or write a full report in response to the project brief you have selected. You are to write only the following six report sections:
Procedure: outline the methods* you would use to collect data for your report. For example, what sort of information will you need to acquire and how will you acquire it?
Identify four references that you could use:
briefly state why each would be suitable
compile them into a reference list (NB. Harvard style – refer to USQ Library referencing guide)
So, what you are being asked to do is to think through how you would approach addressing your chosen project brief, and write some of the elements of what would become a final report. NB. Each article that has been provided for each project brief is not intended as a comprehensive or even representative coverage of each project brief’s issue. It is merely designed to get you started thinking about the issue and to provide a starting point for you to conduct your own research.
*For section 5 above you are asked to briefly describe the methods that you would use to collect data for your report. For example, if collecting information from published references, how will you go about selecting your references? If the report topic lends itself to collecting information by interviewing people then how would you select who to interview and how would they be interviewed? For a scientific report you might conduct an experiment to collect data. How would you do this?
