In 2019, the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child also issued a recommendation for 14 years as the minimum age for criminal responsibility. Under current legislation children as young as 10 can be criminally changed in all Australian states and territories.

3. If the minimum age is raised, how should Australian states and territories deal with  harmful acts by young people?

For example, what might criminological theory tell us about how to best meet the needs of young people, those they harm, and their communities for young people under 14? You should use at least one criminological theory to support your argument.
