The purpose of engaging in brain activities is to create new and strengthen synapses by practising activities that are new to you and that create and repair neural pathways and improve your capabilities. You will have been introduced to brain activities each week, up to and including Week 12. You have been practicing, monitoring and documenting the effects of these activities on your own using the Sample Diary.

The purpose of the Brain and Learning Research Assignment is to create a final report based on two specific brain fitness activities.

You can choose activities that you’ve never done before, or you can choose an activity that you enjoy but do it more often and add new components. You can also choose a good activity for brain neuroplasticity that was not used in this course if you have one.In order to give your brain a workout, as we have learned, practice should be daily a minimum of five or 10 minutes a day is ideal, (a short time every day or every other day is better than leaving your brain without the activity for several days in a row). However, you are the scientist here and this is your experiment. Your frequency is your choice.

1. For this assignment you are asked to choose two of the brain fitness activities that we have been using for this course and practice them consistently. As we have discussed, you should choose these activities in enough time to practice them for least two weeks prior to completing this research assignment.

2. You can submit your research findings using any format you choose (visual, audio, video, written – any combination, PPT, Animoto, etc.). If your format is not accepted or too large for BB you can use your GBC OneDrive and send a link, or another site you prefer, or if necessary you can email it to your professor.

3. There is no word limit for the written format but it is recommended to not have less 3 pages (excluding the cover page and bibliography), Times new roman 12, and 1.5 line spacing. For the other formats as long as you cover the criteria in rubric table in details and be creative, you will be able to gain the full mark of the assignment.
