Develop, deliver and evaluate a health promotion and prevention activity.

Instructions:

This assessment has four (4) parts. All parts must be completed. The activity can be a single information session (minimum of 30 minutes) or a series of group activities.

You must:

a) Research and develop a health promotion activity in an area of mental health. 

b) Engage stakeholders in the review of the content you develop.  

c) Deliver the health promotion activity using a role play or in the workplace.

d) Prepare a report on aspects of the activity development and delivery highlighting key findings.

PART A.

Research and develop an early intervention, health promotion and/or prevention plan including information and the following headings:

i. Source and evidence of identified need (e.g. sector or industry research or reports, population health, demographic, social and epidemiology trends).

ii. Overall structure of the program including purpose of each session within the activity – issues to be addressed.

iii. Audience/participants for the activity.

iv. Key stakeholders involved in the development, delivery and evaluation of the program.

v. Location.

vi. Investigate and identify other evidence based programs for relevant features.

vii. Resources required (e.g. human, financial and physical) – include those sourced, those needing development and additional specialist skills to be brought in if required.

viii. Methods used to advertise the activity.

ix. Legislation or frameworks that are relevant, including how you will maintain duty of care.

x. Evaluation process – how you will evaluate the health promotion and prevention activity.

xi. Reporting of the activity.

xii. Timeline from developing through to the final report.

xiii. Finalise existing and newly developed resources into the program.

PART B.

Review the proposed plan with stakeholders and use feedback to adjust as required.

PART C:

i. Deliver/Role Play the Health Promotion and Prevention Activity.

ii. Ask participants to complete an evaluation of the activity (e.g. Using an evaluation form as determined).

iii. Complete a self-reflection activity at the completion outlining what aspects were successful and what could be improved in the future.

PART D:

Write a report using the following headings:

i. What the activity achieved. 

ii. Who the stakeholders were and how you protected their privacy.

iii. How stakeholders were involved.

iv. How you could adapt the plan for future delivery.

v. How you addressed any challenges involved with the development, delivery and evaluation of the activity.

vi. A summary of the three (3) participant’s evaluations and this impact on future delivery.

vii. A self-reflection on the activity.
