- Once you have read the information, you are required to complete your written responses to questions 1-4 in the spaces provided in this document. Please ensure you take note of the volume of response requirement where indicated.
- Case Study Scenario:
- In the nineties hot-desking was seen as a great innovation in office layouts. Research the innovative idea of hot-desking in the links below and in your wider reading. Review and evaluate the change management project plan at the ATO to introduce hot desking and recommend modifications needed to achieve objectives.

- Part 2: Management briefing
- Prepare and deliver a briefing to management to promote the value of creativity, innovation and sustainability and recognise sucesses for a workplace change.
- During the briefing you may refer to the change you have planned in Event 2 or the case study above. Prepare for the briefing by researching an activity which you propose for the workplace which will foster creative climate and organisational learning by promoting interaction within and between work groups.
- The briefing presentation will either be:
- Conducted in an online environment using MS Teams. The teacher will be observing and completing the relevant observation checklist in real-time.
- Recorded independently with a minimum 2-3 participants. Refer to the Video Assessment Instructions in Appendix 1 to assist you with this process.
- Conducted in the classroom.
- Note: For the demonstration of practical skills, students must confirm their identity by holding up photo identification, such as a driver’s licence, to the camera at the beginning of each practical demonstration to confirm that the student performing the task is the student enrolled.
- Refer to the Assessor Observation Checklist for the assessment criteria for these tasks.
- Your briefing presentation must include:
- Acknowledgement of the team members presentation.
- Presentation of the need for change and the change implemented or proposed.
- Explain and promote continuous improvement strategies, creativity and innovation as essential for competition and doing businesss.
- Learnings from successes and failures of the AE2 plan or case study and what successes will be embedded into systems.
- Description of an activity which you propose for the workplace which will foster creative climate and organisational learning by promoting interaction within and between work groups.
- Communication of the costs and benefits of the activity.
- Facilitation of a brainstorming activity with the group to encourage, test and recognise new ideas and entrepreneurial behaviour to further enhance ideas to deal with challenges and retain momentum of change.
- During the briefing presentation you will be assessed on your performance of the following criteria:
- taking audience, purpose and contextual factors into account when making decisions about what to communicate, with whom, why and how
- collaborating with others to achieve joint outcomes, playing an active role in encouraging innovation and facilitating effective group interaction
- discussing and seeking information using appropriate structure and language for the audience
- using a variety of communication tools and strategies to build and maintain effective working relationships
- building rapport with others.
